The Brookings Institution

The Brookings Institution is an independent, non-partisan organization devoted to public policy. Its three main research programs are: Economic Studies, Foreign Policy Studies, and Governance Studies.

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cooperation among nations and promoting active international engagement by the United States.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)

CSIS provides world leaders with strategic insights on undefined and policy solutions to undefined current and emerging global issues. It is guided by a board of trustees consisting of individuals from both the public and private sectors.

Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)

The CFR is an independent, national membership organization and a nonpartisan center for scholars dedicated to producing and disseminating ideas for a better understanding of world and foreign policy choices facing the U.S. and other governments.

Foreign Policy Association (FPA)

The FPA's main goal as a non-profit, non-partisan organization is to educate Americans about international issues that affect their lives. It publishes the annual journal titled Great Decisions. It remains impartial and achieves educational goals through other publications, forums, and programs focusing on current international issues.

The Heritage Foundation

The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational institute - a think tank - whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

Institute for International Economics (IIE)

IIE is a private, nonprofit organization that provides research and analysis about international economics. Its web site has a research area section that provides economic information about nearly every region of the world, including topics such as debt and development and globalization.

RAND Corporation

The RAND Corporation is a nonprofit institution that helps improve policy and decision-making through research and analysis.

The Matthew B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies

Located at the University of Pittsburgh, the Ridgway Center for International Security Studies produces original and impartial analysis that informs policymakers who must confront diverse challenges to state and human security on a global scale.
